The Role

Our client is one of BC's Great Places to Work and an international distributor of construction materials, currently looking to add 1 more Counter Sales Representative to the team in Cranbrook. The primary role will be to greet incoming customers, process their orders, and upsell. As the face of the company, top customer service is required.

The Counter Sales Representative will also support inventory cycle counts and warehouse organization. Forklift experience is required for this position.

Reporting to the Branch Manager, the shift times are from 7 AM or 8 AM start until 4 PM or 5 PM, fully on-site.

Note: This is a temporary to permanent position with a full transition to a permanent role within 3.5 months.

Responsibilities :

• Greet and assist customers, locate products, and handle transactions.
• Offer product recommendations and answer customer inquiries in person or over the phone.
• Maintain a clean, organized counter for optimal customer experience.
• Stay updated on products and internal systems.
• Perform inventory cycle counts and organize the warehouse using a forklift.

Requirements :

• At least 1 year of experience in a similar role within the construction, building materials, or electrical parts industry.
• Experience and confidence operating a forklift and following safety protocols; forklift certification is an asset.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with professionalism in interactions.
• A friendly, solutions-oriented individual with customer service or sales experience who enjoys physical tasks and interacting with people.
• Experience with inventory cycle counts is a strong asset.
• Exposure to CRM platforms and excellent computer skills.
• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors, primarily indoors.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other departments.

Compensation & Perks :

• Salary range of $40,000 to $50,000, depending on experience.
