Job description

Role: Cost Accountant

Type: 3 month contract

Location: Onsite 5x/week in Brantford, ON

Rate: $35-$38/hr

JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Analyze the Material Cost proposed changes by investigating and documenting the driving factors, ensuring they are aligned to the Budget Costs – document the review and prepare supporting documentation
  • Create and update BOMs, Routes, and associated costing activities for new and existing numbers
  • Prepare weekly inventory reporting of Raw/WIP/MRO Inventory and daily production to-stock reporting
  • Prepare and reconcile month-end inventory reports to the General Ledger
  • Process the associated journal entries including preparation, recording and collection of supporting documentation
  • Complete the final month-end to-stock reporting and prepare the associated Cost of Production journal entries, including preparation, recording, and collection of supporting documentation
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 2 – 5 years of progressive accounting experience; preferred cost accounting/accounts payable experience
  • Strong proficiency with ERP/Financial systems/Epicor or CMS experience a plus
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Suite, specifically Excel and using complex formulas, pivot tables, and macros
NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
