A recruitment division in Mississauga seeks an experienced accounting professional to oversee all accounting operations. Responsibilities include financial planning, compliance, and reporting. Candidates should have over 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in the construction industry, and strong leadership skills. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required, with a CPA being a plus.
Overseeing all accounting operations, including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Liens/Lien Waivers, and Revenue Recognition. Coordinating and directing the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, reporting any variances. Preparing and publishing timely monthly financial statements. Ensuring quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting. Managing and complying with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings. Developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls. Collaborating with project management teams to analyze job costs, and manage the capital budget. Implementing and driving lien processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Providing leadership in the development for the continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives.
