Overview

Hours: This is a manufacturing plant operational role located in Red Deer, AB at Proform’s precast concrete manufacturing facility. Full-time, permanent, 40+ hours/week, various shift times, frequent overtime. Salary range $20.00 - $24.00 per hour based on experience.

Responsibilities
  • Set up and stripping of concrete forms.
  • Use/place rebar and/or wire mesh to reinforce the concrete.
  • Work with a team to pour, spread/smooth, trowel, and finish concrete.
  • Patching finished concrete products.
  • Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor.
  • Maintain a clean work area: pick up all tools and equipment each day to eliminate potential hazards.
  • Use hand tools to grind concrete product and shape to finish.
  • Responsible for quality of product and efficiency of production.
  • Participate in training and ongoing learning opportunities.
  • Communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Proven work experience as a concrete laborer or similar construction role.
  • Ability to use and read a tape measure in both metric and imperial.
  • Ability to perform strenuous tasks with hands.
  • Ability to kneel, bend and lift heavy materials.
  • Ability to measure accurately and read specifications.
  • Knowledge of rebar tying, and/or reading blueprints and/or concrete finishing considered an asset.
  • Reliability, flexible availability for differing shifts, and strong work ethic are absolutely key.
  • Must be punctual with a good attendance record.
  • Positive, proactive attitude and approach to issues.
  • Safety-oriented; we have a very strong safety culture.
  • Able to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Working Environment
  • Working various shift start times.
  • Majority of work is performed standing/kneeling.
  • Working in a safety sensitive manufacturing/production environment, requiring personal protective equipment.
  • Concrete plant conditions of noise, dust, etc.
  • Working in varying temperatures; indoors in environmentally controlled conditions and outdoors in all weather and temperatures.

Pay: $20.00-$24.00 per hour.
