Overview
Concepteur de jeux senior - Senior Game Designer for Singularity 6. This is a key role to define and implement core gameplay systems for a new, unannounced game in Unreal Engine 5. You will help shape the core gameplay vision and systems from the ground up, partnering with the Executive Producer and a cross-functional team to prototype and shape emergent player experiences.
Forge alternate worlds that deepen players' lives. We are a game development studio based in Los Angeles, dedicated to meaningful and emergent gameplay experiences.
What You’ll Do
- Define Core Game Systems: lead the design and development of key gameplay systems such as progression loops, quest structures, player incentives, world interaction, and player expression.
- Prototype and Iterate: rapidly prototype and playtest ideas in Unreal Engine 5 to validate gameplay loops, pacing, and systems.
- Execute Design Vision: collaborate with leads and directors to ensure the design vision supports project goals and player motivation.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: work with engineers, artists, producers, and narrative designers to ensure a unified game experience.
- Documentation & Communication: produce clear design documentation and communicate effectively with team members across disciplines.
Who You Are
- Experienced: at least 1 shipped title in a senior design role—preferably on a multiplayer game.
- Creative & Systems-Oriented: excels at creating deep, interconnected systems that enable emergent gameplay.
- Player-Centric: designs with the player experience at the forefront, balancing fun, challenge, and accessibility.
- Proficient in Unreal Engine Blueprints: able to build, test, and iterate gameplay mechanics, mission flows, and content logic without constant engineering support.
- Technical Fluency: comfortable with rapid prototyping using Blueprints, creating interactive objects, event triggers, quest structures, and progression gates; able to decide when to use Blueprints vs. code and to work with engineers to optimize functionality.
- Strong Communicator: articulates design decisions, receives and gives feedback, and aligns cross-functional stakeholders.
- Self-Starter: thrives in early stages of game development with the freedom to build something new from scratch.
Nice To Have
- Experience in early-stage game development (prototyping and / or pre-production).
- Familiarity with live game systems and balancing for long-term player engagement.
- Knowledge of economic design or player progression systems.
- Passion for emergent storytelling and systems-driven design.
