We are seeking casual PSWs or Caregivers for a community client in the Port Severn area. The ideal candidate drives and is comfortable driving clients in their vehicle to run errands, go to appointments, etc. Scheduling is flexible, but open availability is an asset.

Responsibilities
  • Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and personal care including eating, dressing, transferring, toileting, hygiene, grooming, and bathing as per client\'s care plan
  • Driving clients to outings, appointments, to run errands, etc.
  • Supporting client with assigned physiotherapy exercises daily
  • Preparing meals for client and completing light housekeeping as needed
  • Providing medication support and management
  • Providing cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual support
  • Maintaining open communication with client and their family
  • Monitoring care plan and adding detailed documentation with any changes and updates
  • Responding to all emergency situations
  • All other duties, as assigned
Key Qualifications
  • PSW certification from a public college/learning centre OR additional NACC certification is preferred*
  • Caregiver, HSW, or PSW experience is required*
  • Access to a reliable vehicle and a valid driver\'s license
  • Valid CPR/First Aid certification
  • Completion of a Police Vulnerable Sector Check within last 6 months
  • Satisfactory professional references
  • Ability to accurately follow written and verbal instructions
  • Must be able to anticipate problems and use sound judgment and tact in handling confidential matters
