Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an Event Supervisor or Event Manager.
  • Registered Massage Therapist designation is considered an asset.
  • Must be available to work weekends.

This casual position is primarily responsible for planning, managing, and overseeing MaKami College’s Community Outreach program. The role involves promoting MaKami College’s programs at various events throughout Edmonton and the surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan events from start to finish according to requirements, target audience, and objectives
  • Develop creative suggestions to enhance event success and engagement
  • Coordinate all event logistics and operations
  • Ensure events run smoothly and proactively resolve any issues that arise
  • Analyze event outcomes and prepare post‑event reports
  • Attend community events to promote MaKami College’s programs
  • Set up and dismantle equipment, tables, and materials before and after events
  • Supervise and organize student participation in event setup and takedown as required
  • Assist with screening clients’ health status to ensure safety
  • Perform administrative duties such as filing, typing, copying, faxing, and scanning
  • Handle sensitive information with a high level of confidentiality
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support colleagues or assist the College in achieving its goals and objectives
Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience as an Event Supervisor or Event Manager
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • The Registered Massage Therapist designation is considered an asset
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written)
  • Positive, cheerful, and helpful attitude
  • Ability to build strong internal relationships
  • High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion
  • Must be available to work weekends
