Essential Functions/Responsibilities

In the position of Co‑op student, job shadowing a HSE Coordinator, we would ask you to do the following:

  • Assist in project safety orientation, job site inspections and accident/injury reports.
  • Assist with the development, review and implementation of site specific safety plans, safe work practices and safe work procedures.
  • Help the project teams organize and conduct training programs including but not limited to: WHMIS 2015, Working at Heights, Personal Protective Equipment, and CPR/First Aid.
  • Monitor employees and subcontractors on site to ensure compliance to safety procedures and escape issues to resolution through the HSE Coordinator and EllisDon team on site.
  • Proactively identify and prevent hazardous situations and take necessary measures to correct them.
