Job Description

At IPS, we are global leaders in developing innovative solutions for the consulting, architecture, engineering, project controls, procurement, construction management, and CQV of technically complex facilities, primarily in the life sciences industry.

We are looking for a talented Co-op Architecture, to join our dedicated team at our office located in Vaughan, Ontario, beginning in January 2026. This position will last 4-8 months.

In this role, you will work within a multi-disciplined team of Architects and Engineers. You will also work with the team to develop design solutions for inclusion in Feasibility, Concept, Basic Design, Site Master Planning Studies, and detail design information, which is incorporated into Construction Drawings. Primarily, work will be focused on the technical aspects of projects typically related to the Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences industry.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Capable of using an array of design software such as SketchUp, Enscape, and Autodesk Revit to develop sketches, drawings, and construction documents that align with clients' requirements and IPS design and CAD/BIM standards.
  • Review drawings and documents to ensure compliance with company design and production standards.
  • Work as a team member and is capable of interpreting the Project Architect's design requests.
  • Work with equipment suppliers/vendors to obtain the necessary information needed for design completion.
  • Interact with clients as required to secure scope and design intent.
  • Conduct research into material and equipment selections under the direction of the Project Architect.
  • Diligently checks coordination of work to ensure documents reflect the client’s design intent and acceptable levels of quality.
  • Coordinate architectural design work with related engineering disciplines.
