Job Summary

Reporting to the Manager, Professional Practice, Patient Experience, Quality & Risk, the Clinical Extern & Student Supervisor is responsible for providing support for the education and development of the Externs, provide mentorship, support team integration, Extern coordination and overall program implementation and evaluation. This role will also support the student onboarding process and support students within the organization with a positive placement experience. The Supervisor will liaise with all other Managers with Externs on their team as needed.

Qualifications And Experience
  • Graduate of a post-secondary Diploma or degree in a health-related program
  • Current certificate of competence and in good standing from professional regulatory body
  • Current BLS Certification
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in an acute healthcare setting
  • Leadership experience an asset
  • Experience with conflict resolution tools and techniques
  • Experience with current software applications such as Meditech and HSPnet an asset
  • Project management experience and participation in process improvement initiatives preferred
  • Knowledge of PHIPA and FIPPA legislation

Hours of Work

Monday to Friday. Weekend work may be required as needed.
