Role: CIPS National Volunteer Engagement Coordinator Supported By: CIPS National Location: Virtual Role Type: Volunteer Commitment: Approx. 3 hours per month (includes 1-hour monthly Volunteer Committee meeting)

Purpose of the Role

The CIPS National Volunteer Engagement Coordinator support volunteer communication, engagement, and recognition across Canada. This role focuses on supporting positive volunteer experiences by helping keep volunteers informed, connected, and motivated while encouraging participation in national and provincial initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
Volunteer Engagement & Communication
  • Act as a friendly point of contact for:
    • CIPS National volunteers
    • CIPS Provincial volunteers
  • Share regular updates from CIPS National to volunteer teams.
  • Encourage volunteer participation in ongoing initiatives and activities.
  • Help promote new volunteer opportunities across the organization.
Volunteer Support & Recognition
  • Support volunteers by connecting them with appropriate staff or committee leaders when additional guidance is required.
  • Identify volunteer achievements and successes to support recognition efforts across CIPS communications.
Committee Participation
  • Participate in a 1-hour monthly National Volunteer Committee meeting to coordinate priorities, share updates, and assign light follow-up actions.
Skills & Qualities
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Organized and comfortable using email and basic collaboration tools.
  • Interest in supporting volunteers and strengthening professional community engagement.
  • Prior volunteer or nonprofit experience is an asset (not required).
