Are you a dynamic HR leader passionate about making a difference? Nova Scotia Legal Aid (NSLA) is seeking a Director of Human Resources to join their dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the HR function in an organization committed to providing access to justice for underrepresented communities.


In this role, you will lead and execute comprehensive HR strategies that align with the organizational goals while fostering a positive workplace culture. You will collaborate with the executive team to enhance employee engagement and support their diverse workforce, implementing innovative recruitment strategies and managing onboarding processes. Your expertise will guide NSLA in navigating HR policies, best practices, and legal compliance.


We are looking for a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of current HR practices, preferably within the legal or public service sectors. A passion for diversity, equity, and inclusion, along with strong relationship-building skills, is essential as you connect with the team of dedicated professionals, including lawyers and support staff.
