Qualifications

Our member is looking to place a Certified 310T Mechanic Lead Hand (2 : 00PM to Midnight) , in Carleton Place, ON.

As a Lead Hand, you will oversee the daily operations of a team of heavy‑duty mechanics, assigning tasks based on skill level and workload. You’ll ensure that each team member has clear instructions and sufficient resources to complete their work. This includes providing leadership during high‑pressure situations, ensuring that all tasks are done within the set timeframes while upholding safety and quality standards. You will also monitor and guide the team to maintain high levels of productivity and morale.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Supervise and lead a team of mechanics, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on heavy‑duty equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols, regulations, and best practices to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Manage inventory of tools, parts, and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels and proper maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities for tracking and reporting.
  • Provide ongoing training and mentorship to junior mechanics and assist with their professional development.
Requirements
  • Certified 310T Mechanic license
  • Must have a minimum of 2-5 years’ experience working as a Heavy‑Duty Technician
  • Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience in a leadership role such as lead or supervisor
  • Knowledge and understanding of Preventive Maintenance plans
