Job summary

A community college is seeking instructors for professional skills courses in various locations in Northern British Columbia. The position requires expertise in areas such as computer training and conflict management. Term of App't: February - December 2026 (approximately 5 - 15 hrs per course)

Reporting to: Dean of Continuing Education

Location: Atlin, Chetwynd, Dawson Creek, Dease Lake, Fort Nelson, Fort St John, BC

Salary: Rates will be negotiated

Description: Northern Lights College's CE Department is looking to hire instructors to teach professional skills courses, that may include, but not limited to:

  • Computer Training (Basic and Advanced Levels)
  • Conflict Management
  • Organizational Skills
  • Project Management (Basics)
  • Customer Service Skills
  • Job Search Skills
  • Contract Management
  • Leadership
  • Communication

Delivery of each course will be approximately 5 - 15 hours per week. Preference will be given to those who have the ability to teach a minimum of two courses.

Instructional positions are needed in Atlin, Chetwynd, Dawson Creek, Dease Lake, Fort St John, and Fort Nelson. Please specify in your application what location to apply your resume to.

Qualifications: The successful candidates will be subject matter experts in the areas that they are applying for, along with two years of teaching experience, or a combination of education and experience may be considered. The programs may be delivered both on campus and online; therefore, you must have demonstratable experience in D2L, or other similar online learning management platform; with preference given to those who have previous experience with Microsoft Office Teams application; and must have your own computer and reliable internet source.

Travel may be required off campus to other communities for course delivery; therefore, a valid driver's license is required.
