Salary: $26 - $32 CAD per hour (depending on level of experience or expertise).

Overview: We are currently seeking Catalyst Technicians. This role is essential for the efficient handling of catalytic reactors and requires specialized skills in confined and inert environments. The successful candidate will have a strong background in industrial operations and a commitment to health and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Vessel Entry Technician or Catalyst Technician:

  • Removing catalyst or other materials from catalytic reactors, spreading and loading catalyst or other materials using advanced and specialized equipment, processes and procedures;
  • Dismantling and/or installing various reactor hardware items based on client specifications and company protocols;
  • Setting up, operating and dismantling all catalyst unloading and reloading equipment (including screeners, drum dumpers, air locks, dust collectors, cooling/refrigeration units and various other major components) in accordance with established company and customer plant safety rules;
  • Developing and maintaining an advanced working knowledge of all company equipment that is used in performing assigned catalyst change out duties;
  • Providing on the job training to more junior technicians regarding the use of our proprietary catalyst equipment and techniques;
  • Provide ground support to Catalyst Technicians when they are operating within the confines of catalytic reactors, including inert environments;
  • Assisting in the inspection of catalyst equipment and peripheral components, including hoses, connections, pumps and general work area prior to starting any job; Informing supervisor of any deficiencies, which may cause accidents, injuries or lost productivity;
  • Meeting all company safety requirements, including performing Hazard Recognition Awareness to remove or identify for removal of all hazards from the workplace and participating in the company injury management program as required;
  • Complying with and following company standard operating procedures, and completing all required paperwork associated with the catalyst change out work performed; and
  • Performing all other duties if adequately trained as assigned by supervisor and management personnel.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in confined space environments, particularly in inert settings with no breathable air.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, for safety and operational instructions.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle physically demanding tasks and work in challenging environments.
  • Full training provided to meet technical and safety standards.
