Casual Instructor - Technology Literacy & Financial Math & Statistics

Location: Calgary, AB / Academic – Learner & Academic Services / SAFA Casual – Approved Program / On-site

The Learner and Academic Services (LAS) department aims to support student success by creating a culture that unleashes students' full potential. Our goal is to support the Education Plan and foster a Student-First Culture by focusing on student success and engaging the entire campus community.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Business Math & Technology Literacy Academic Chair, you will ensure SAIT students acquire relevant mathematical and computational skills for their disciplines and future careers. You will also teach students to utilize technology for financial mathematical operations and apply statistical knowledge to analyze data for descriptive and predictive insights.

The Role
  • Deliver engaging courses
  • Develop application-based learning materials and assessments tailored to students' specialties
  • Prepare additional practical studies to support learners
  • Evaluate student progress and provide timely feedback
  • Offer ongoing academic support and guidance
  • Familiarize students with available SAIT supports and make referrals
  • Support the Academic Chair in future initiatives
  • Participate in instructor training programs as required
Qualifications
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, or Business Administration
  • At least 3 years of post-secondary teaching experience plus industry experience in relevant disciplines
  • Experience delivering application-based courses
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools; MOS certification is a strong asset
  • Knowledge of VBA and Python coding; experience with AR, VR & MR is a plus
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
  • Excellent time management and prioritization abilities
  • Maintaining industry contacts is an asset
