Overview

Centennial Auto Group in Summerside is looking for an organized, skilled and motivated individual to join our Maintenance team.

NOW HIRING: Carpenter Apprentice

Location: Centennial Auto Group, Summerside, Prince Edward Island

Hours: Full-time, permanent position. Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm, 40 hours per week.

Wages: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour + benefits (negotiable based on experience)

Applicable Skills
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions and communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors
  • Knowledge of labels, safety warnings, and guidelines, with commitment to safe work practices
  • Strong attention to detail and awareness of safety at all times
  • Ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams, blueprints, sketches, building plans, and specifications
  • Solid working knowledge of job site safety requirements and procedures
  • Proficiency in carpentry techniques, tools, and equipment
  • Accurate measuring, cutting, and assembly skills

Job Tasks
  • Material Handling
    • Load and unload materials; some heavy lifting required.
    • Move materials to designated areas on-site as needed.
  • Carpentry Tasks
    • Perform various carpentry tasks, including but not limited to framing, finish work, concrete, rebar, sanding, and painting.
    • Accurately measure, cut, and shape lumber, wood, and other building materials.
  • Tool and Equipment Usage
    • Safely operate hand tools, power tools, saws, lifts, and staging.
    • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
  • Worksite Safety and Organization
    • Follow instructions from supervisors and adhere to company safety standards at all times.
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including regular site clean-up.
  • General Construction Duties
    • Assist with general maintenance, repairs, renovations, and new construction projects.
    • Perform work efficiently and within the set timelines.
  • Additional Responsibilities
    • Take on additional duties as assigned by management.
