The Opportunity

The Technical Design and Delivery (TDD) Team is seeking a well-rounded professional to join us in a full-time permanent position as a Business Support Analyst (BSA) by assisting the team in supporting the CJIMS application. This team is responsible for the day-to-day support of CJIMS through direct contact with the users and stakeholders of the system and supporting CJIMS stakeholders when changes are requested.

This position will be of interest to individuals with in-depth CJIMS user experience, with strong knowledge of business analysis principles, excellent organizational and communication skills, and who thrive on playing a key role in bridging the gap between business and technology within CJIMS and other related applications.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be an experienced professional who is comfortable dealing with a variety of stakeholders, managing change and supporting day-to-day operational activities of the CJIMS system. Typically, the knowledge and experience required to achieve the above is obtained through:

  • Extended knowledge of the CJIMS application.
  • Strong knowledge of Business Analysis principles, including requirements gathering, stakeholder management, process modeling and solution evaluation through a combination of education and experience.
  • System and process management tools including Microsoft Azure DevOps, Microsoft D365, SharePoint, ServiceNow and the Microsoft suite of applications (e.g., Word, Excel).
Demonstrated Ability To
  • Act as a change agent that provides a lead role in business improvement activities to ensure client expectations, requirements, and government priorities are met.
  • Troubleshoot issues and respond appropriately to stakeholder requests and user concerns by email, phone, or other methods in a ‘support desk’ style environment.
  • Develop business cases that review existing services or processes, determine future business needs or opportunities, and recommend strategies that satisfy client needs and objectives.
  • Assist clients in gathering technical and non-technical business requirements and preparing relevant documentation.
  • Develop test cases and test solutions.
  • Develop and facilitate training for individuals and groups.
  • Evaluate industry trends and analyze similar service offerings in other jurisdictions to identify opportunities and develop strategies for continued business / service improvement.
  • Provide clear and concise verbal explanations, promote the use and value of new technologies and features, and present accurate technical information to a wide variety of technical and non-technical audiences in a clear, accurate and understandable manner.
  • Manage relationships and communications with vendors, stakeholders and other 3rd parties as required.
  • Competently use Microsoft tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.).
  • Always consider system security, privacy, legislative and legal requirements, including user levels and roles and creating and maintaining user accounts for CJIMS and related systems.
  • Be client-focused, analytical, organized, adaptable, creative and respectful.
  • Be prepared for a fast-paced, high-pressure work environment with changing priorities and tight deadlines.
