Business Development Representative
Reporting to the Business Development Manager, the Business Development Representative will play a key role in driving market growth and strengthening our presence within the GTA construction industry. This role is ideal for a relationship-focused professional who excels at building trust with general contractors, architects, owners, and developers while supporting the technical and strategic aspects of the sales process.
Compensation
- Base Salary: $100,000
- Commission: Uncapped
- Bonus: Performance-based bonuses available
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Business Development
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities by developing strong relationships with general contractors, architects, owners, and developers.
- Leverage your understanding of the GTA construction market to promote product adoption and drive specifications.
Technical Collaboration & Project Coordination
- Participate in detailed technical discussions with architects and contractors, supporting specification updates and product evaluations.
- Manage project workflows to ensure clear communication and timely coordination among all stakeholders.
- Facilitate introductions between key industry partners to expand the company’s network and uncover new business opportunities.
Business Case & Value Proposition Development
- Develop compelling business cases that effectively communicate product value, ROI, and competitive advantages.
- Maintain strong knowledge of product technical capabilities, market applications, and available services to support business development efforts.
Stakeholder Engagement & Relationship Management
- Build and maintain trusted relationships to influence decision-making and secure product specification.
- Deliver presentations and lead stakeholder meetings that support business development initiatives and promote our solutions.
Required Qualifications
Educational Background
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or Business.
- A Master’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or an MBA is considered a strong asset.
Industry Experience
- Extensive experience within the construction industry, particularly working with general contractors and architects in the GTA market.
- Proven sales track record, including relationship management, achieving sales targets, and navigating complex sales cycles with contractors, architects, and developers.
Technical & Process Skills
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to participate in specification discussions and support technical problem-solving.
- Excellent process management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and maintain attention to detail.
Communication Skills
- Exceptional communication and presentation abilities, capable of conveying both technical and business information to diverse audiences.
- Professional, relationship-focused demeanour with the ability to facilitate strategic introductions and long-term partnerships.
