THE OPPORTUNITY

EHN Canada is seeking a dynamic Business Development Director to lead strategic partnerships with first responder groups and organizations across the country. This national role focuses on expanding EHN Guardians’ presence within the first responder sector by fostering relationships, developing business strategies, and aligning programs with the unique needs of first responders.

The ideal candidate is a results-driven professional with strong sales and relationship management skills, deep understanding of first responder organizations, and a passion for supporting those who protect and serve communities.

Responsibilities
  • Industry Analysis
    • Identify key first responder organizations, unions, employers, peer support groups, and funding mechanisms.
    • Conduct market research to inform business development strategies tailored to the sector.
  • Relationship Building
    • Establish and maintain strong relationships with first responder organizations, unions, employers, and key stakeholders.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for the sector, building trust and rapport at all levels.
  • Sales Strategy & Execution
    • Develop and execute business development plans to grow partnerships and admissions within the first responder community.
    • Collaborate with Clinical and Operations teams to ensure programs meet sector-specific needs.
  • Networking & Events
    • Represent EHN Guardians at industry conferences, events, and meetings to promote services.
    • Build visibility and awareness of EHN’s programs within the first responder sector.
  • Customer Retention
    • Partner with the Corporate Care Specialist team to ensure seamless patient admissions, treatment, reporting, and discharge processes.
    • Monitor satisfaction and outcomes to maintain strong long-term partnerships.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Public Safety, or related field (preferred).
  • 5+ years of business development or sales experience, preferably within the public safety or first responder sectors.
  • Strong understanding of first responder needs, challenges, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Proven ability to drive sales and develop partnerships in public sector environments.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build trust and rapport with diverse stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and capable of independent work.
  • Willingness to travel nationally as required.
Preferred Skills
  • Familiarity with mental health, addiction, and trauma treatment for first responders.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and standards.
  • Lived experience as a first responder or family member of a first responder.
