As the Building Maintenance Technician, you will ensure the safe, efficient, and well-functioning operation of facilities by proactively maintaining systems, resolving issues, and supporting a clean, compliant, and reliable environment for staff and tenants.

What you’ll do:
  • Ensure the safety and functionality of facilities through proactive monitoring, preventative maintenance, and timely issue resolution.
  • Maintain reliable operation of critical systems (e.g. lighting, plumbing, HVAC, electrical) by completing timely routine maintenance and necessary repairs.
  • Optimize building performance and compliance by monitoring systems to meet operational efficiency and safety standards.
  • Minimize operational disruptions by providing responsive maintenance support and coordinating corrective actions as needed.
  • Preserve facility condition and usability by addressing general repair needs (e.g. carpentry, painting, drywall) and maintaining overall building appearance.
  • Support efficiency and readiness of maintenance operations by keeping mechanical rooms and work areas clean, organized, and hazard-free.
  • Maintain uninterrupted access to resources by managing inventory of tools and supplies, ensuring timely replenishment when needed.
  • Guarantee quality and safety of specialized work by coordinating and overseeing external contractors for advanced repairs and major system overhauls.
  • Protect organizational compliance and safety culture by adhering to building codes, regulatory requirements, and internal policies at all times.
  • Support emergency preparedness and continuity by responding to urgent and after-hours maintenance needs that ensure building safety and functionality.
What you’ll bring:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in a related field.
  • 1-2 years experience in building maintenance or a similar role.
  • General maintenance skills, including plumbing, electrical, mechanical and painting.
  • Proven experience with both a Computerized Maintenance Management System and Building Automation systems.
  • Flexibility with working hours, including evenings and weekends, and on-call availability is required.
  • Valid driver’s license, access to reliable transportation, and willingness to travel to any SASCU related business location is required.

  • Have knowledge of building systems including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
  • Can read technical manuals and blueprints.
  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of safety practices and building codes.
  • Possess strong problem-solving and time-management skills.
  • Can work independently and in a team environment.
  • Have the physical ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
