The City of Burnaby is recruiting a Building Inspector to perform building inspectional and regulatory work to ensure compliance with the Building, Zoning and Sign by‑laws and BC Building Code. The successful candidate may be hired into a Building Inspector 1, 2 or 3 position, depending on qualifications. Pay Rate: Building Inspector 1: $37.58 per hour + 12% in lieu of benefits (2024 Rates); Building Inspector 2: $40.74 per hour + 12% in lieu of benefits (2024 Rates); Building Inspector 3: $48.09 per hour + 12% in lieu of benefits (2024 Rates).
Location: City Hall
Hours of work: This is an auxiliary position; hours and shifts are based on operational requirements and do not provide guaranteed hours of work, which may include on‑call shifts. Typical shifts are Monday to Friday from 7:30 AM – 4:15 PM.
