  • Are you looking for the next step, not just a role, but the opportunity to shape, build, and lead a new division within a fast-growing company?
  • Are you someone who naturally steps into leadership, mentoring others, setting a high-bar, and seeing the big picture?
  • Do you enjoy balancing time in the field with client-facing problem- solving and technical documentation?
  • Do you communicate with clarity, confidence, and a down-to-earth style whether you’re speaking with a contractor, client, or colleague?
  • Are you motivated by autonomy and entrepreneurial thinking, but value the strength of a collaborative, high-performing team?
  • Do you genuinely love the work and believe that serious engineering, getting excited over technical videos, and a good laugh (or a ski day) can go hand in hand?

about twin peaks engineering

Twin Peaks Engineering is a locally owned and operated consulting structural engineering firm based in Whistler, BC, with a growing footprint in Vancouver. We specialize in structural solutions for residential, light commercial, and industrial projects, with expertise in timber design, mass timber, steel and reinforced concrete, structural condition assessments, and detailed structural analysis of pre-fabricated structures.

Our team is passionate about delivering on our mission: Inspiring the Built Environment through Ingenuity. We approach every project with integrity, personal ability, courage, and excellence — and we’re proud of the strong, connected team culture we’ve built along the way.

At Twin Peaks Engineering, you’ll be joining a highly skilled, technically rigorous, and growth-minded team that values excellence and camaraderie. As we continue to expand, we’re looking for a Building Envelope Engineer ready to lead a new division. Someone who brings an entrepreneurial spirit along with expertise, energy, and a genuine passion for the profession.

The ideal candidate is self-directed, intrapreneurial in spirit, and thrives in an adventurous and collaborative environment. You’ll play a key role in launching and growing our Building Envelope discipline, with the opportunity to shape its direction, build a team, and become the face of this specialty area. If you’re looking for meaningful work, a great team, and a culture that balances high standards with a sense of humour (and the occasional adventure day), we’d love to hear from you!

This is where you come in.

this is for you if:

  • You’re a self-starter with deep technical expertise and the confidence to grow and lead a new discipline.
  • You know how to run a job from start to finish and keep teams aligned along the way.
  • You thrive in environments with little hierarchy, taking accountability for your work with focus, follow-through, and pride.

  • You bring a calm, analytical mindset to complex problems, and know how to adapt when conditions shift on site or in scope.
  • You’re energized by client-facing work and have a knack for building trust across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • You have the business acumen to match your engineering skill: budgeting, forecasting, and growing a profitable division are all within reach.
  • You lead with patience, integrity, and clarity, and mentoring a team comes naturally to you.
  • You value precision, but know how to move fast and adjust priorities when the work demands it.
  • You love the profession and the outdoors, and believe that great teams do their best work when curiosity, humour, and fresh air are part of the mix.

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, and industry peers to support project success and long-term growth.
  • Representing Twin Peaks Engineering at industry events and contributing to proposals, fee development, and business development efforts.
  • Mentoring team members and contributing to internal knowledge-sharing, quality control, and strategic planning for the Building Envelope division.
  • Conducting on-site visual inspections to evaluate the condition of cladding, roofing, windows, sealants, and interfaces, and using diagnostic tools to detect hidden moisture, thermal bridging, or air leakage.
  • Identifying and documenting deficiencies, estimating repair costs, and compiling detailed assessment reports for strata councils, property managers, or building owners.
  • Developing design intent documentation, technical specifications, and detailed drawings for envelope assemblies.
  • Leading material specification, thermal/hygrothermal analysis, and compliance with code and sustainability standards.
  • Preparing and managing complete tender packages, from drafting scopes of work to responding to bidder inquiries and evaluating proposals.
  • Overseeing construction-phase work, including shop drawing reviews, RFIs, site visits, and issuing site review reports to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Tracking deficiencies during installation and coordinating follow-ups to confirm resolution.
  • Leading budgeting, forecasting, and team resourcing to deliver exceptional results.
