Your opportunity

Reporting to the team leader, join Stantec as an Intermediate Building Electrical Engineer at our Montreal, Laval, Longueuil, or Quebec City office to complete the design and implementation of various‑sized building electrical projects within established budgets and timelines. Variety will be the order of the day: you will participate in institutional (schools, hospitals, CIUSUs), commercial (office towers), and industrial building projects throughout the province and elsewhere in Canada.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities

More specifically, when you join Stantec, your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Design and develop electrical distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and communication systems for institutional, commercial, or industrial building projects;
    Developing low‑and medium‑voltage distribution networks;
    Establishing and maintaining contact with clients to request or provide technical information related to the project;
    Performing modeling and analysis;
    Preparing technical specifications; signing and sealing plans;
    Writing and approving technical reports;
    Surveying existing installations;
    Participating in project planning;
    Providing supervision and administrative follow‑up during the implementation of the work.

Depending on your interests and skills, you may also be asked to:

  • Manage projects, including multidisciplinary coordination, project monitoring, budgets, schedules, and service quality with clients;
    Mentor junior colleagues;
    Participate in improving the electrical department's design processes.

Qualifications

Your background
Your application will be considered if you have the following expertise and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering;
    5 to 10 years of experience in designing and implementing electrical projects in buildings;
    Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ);
    Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and prioritization skills;
    Strong interpersonal skills and enjoy working in a team;
    ASP construction card;
    Knowledge of English is an asset to facilitate collaboration with our internal teams outside Quebec or with clients;
