Job Title

Building and Grounds Maintenance Technician

Educational and Skills Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 5+ years of experience in property/estate management.
  • 2+ years of experience in building maintenance and/or property management.
  • 1-2 years of experience operating a snowplow preferred.
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).
  • A valid state-issued driver’s license is required.
  • Effective handling of maintenance issues, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.
Reports to

Supply Chain and Facilities Manager.

Primary Job Responsibility

Maintain equipment, building, and grounds during scheduled hours to include some weekends and off-shift times based on the ongoing operating needs of the facility.

Grounds and Facilities Maintenance
  • Grounds keeping, including snow removal, clearing sidewalks of ice and snow, and maintaining the lawns and plantings on the grounds around Microspec.
  • General upkeep of the facility.
  • Maintenance for trucks, mowers, and other miscellaneous equipment.
  • Various facilities maintenance activities, including but not limited to painting, light electrical work, plumbing, carpentry, janitorial housekeeping, landscaping, masonry, metalwork, pest control, fabrication, metal and plastic machining, recycling, and minor installations.
  • Repairs, regular PMs, and servicing machinery, furnishings, and other equipment.
Preventive Maintenance and Repairs
  • Independently perform standard Preventive Maintenance (PM) and repair duties on equipment, machinery, and facilities.
  • Monitor and maintain all assigned building systems.
  • Respond to all maintenance issues in a timely fashion, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
  • Responsible for alerting management immediately of any unusual occurrence and/or damage that has taken place or may occur.
Safety and Compliance
  • Ensure applicable safety standards are used and comply with all corporate policies and state and federal regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of assigned tasks.
  • Preparation of appropriate documentation.
  • On-call availability for building and/or property maintenance.
  • Use all appropriate personal protective equipment.
Communication and Professionalism
  • Convey information and issues clearly.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous manner with all guests, vendors, contractors, and employees.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and to meet deadlines.
Tools and Equipment Operation
  • Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, and basic computer skills.
  • Knowledge of hand tools, power tools, Zamboni, and other equipment required to perform tasks.
  • Various pick-up and delivery functions as needed for the company.
