Job description

The National Life, Disability & Wellness Team is looking for a self‑motivated CPP/QPP Analyst who thrives on delivering value, is customer‑obsessed, and is excited to work with a small yet dynamic team. They will have a strong understanding of the Canada Pension Plan / Quebec Pension Plan and its impact on disability benefits, as well as strong mathematical and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities
  • Calculate and code the CPP/QPP offset and adjusted LTD benefit in Navigator upon receipt of CPP/QPP disability or retirement benefit approval.
  • Calculate and code other offsets such as WSIB, rehab earnings, severance, and input the adjusted LTD benefit in Navigator.
  • Advise Plan Member of the overpayment amount with clear explanations both verbally and in writing.
  • Follow up with Plan Member and/or Service Canada/Retraite Quebec for reimbursement of overpayment and negotiate an acceptable repayment plan when vital.
  • Proceed with claim recoveries in Navigator.
  • Review CPP/QPP decline letters and establish if Plan Member should appeal the decision or reapply later.
  • Define if utilization of the services of an external CPP Advocate is warranted.
  • Supervise a group e‑mail inbox and provide responses on a rotation basis.
  • Collaborate with the CPP Senior Disability Administrator and Case Management teams to strengthen financial results.
  • Establish good working relationships with Service Canada and Retraite Québec agents to facilitate our work.
Required Qualifications
  • Fully bilingual (French/English) – the successful candidate will be required to communicate in English and French in order to support clients from various jurisdictions outside of Quebec.
  • Strong customer service focus; ability to be empathetic while delivering sometimes difficult messages.
  • Strong math skills.
  • Very comfortable with Office 365; most notably Excel and Word.
  • Experience with Navigator is an asset.
  • Able to read and interpret group insurance contracts and apply their provisions.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Open to change and continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in disability benefit calculations is helpful.
  • Knowledge of Canada Pension Plan and Quebec Pension Plan legislation preferred.
  • A capacity for constant learning from both success and failure.

Salary

Expected range: $41,400.00 CAD – $69,000.00 CAD. Actual salary depends on local market conditions, geography, and relevant job‑related factors. Employees may also participate in incentive programs and earn bonus compensation tied to performance.
