Responsibilities
  • The Circulation Clerk is responsible for ensuring customer service: assisting clients who are on site; answering phones and responding to electronic requests; performing resource loans and returns; shelving resources; preparing materials for shipping via divisional courier or Canada Post; receiving and processing returned resources.
Requirements
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Must be able to provide and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check
  • Must be able to communicate fluently (verbal and written) in English and French
  • Must be able to lift up to 5 kg (10 lbs)
Essential Qualifications
  • Experience providing information in-person and over the telephone in a customer service oriented environment.
  • Experience providing clerical and administrative support including processing incoming and outgoing mail, receiving couriers/visitors and operating office equipment.
  • Experience and proficiency in using Microsoft Office programs including Word and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to take initiative and to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team environment and develop strong working relationships with colleagues.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in French.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience working in a library setting.
