Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist – Paediatric Team

Band 7 Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist – Edmonton, UK: £35 per hour, Full Time – part time will be considered. This role offers an ASAP Start – Ongoing opportunity to work within the paediatric team, providing specialist speech and language therapy to children and young people. What you will do:

  • Conduct highly specialist assessments for children and young people to contribute to Education Health Care Needs Assessments.
  • Manage a defined caseload of school-aged children with speech, language, and communication needs, ensuring that care plans are tailored to individualised needs.
  • Collaborate with school staff to devise and evaluate treatment programmes, ensuring alignment with the Foundation Stage and National Curriculum.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive care and support for each child.
  • Create detailed clinical reports and care plans, while continually assessing clinical effectiveness through evidence-based practice.
  • Recommend and manage alternative communication strategies, including sign language and communication aids, to enhance communicative effectiveness.
  • Provide guidance and support to school staff and parents to better manage speech and language needs within the school and home environment.

Requirements:

  • Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Speech and Language Therapist specialising in paediatrics.
  • Preferably a car driver for ease of transport between sites.
