Overview
Amuse is a platform that helps people discover local arts and culture. Think of it as your personal travel guide: but instead of lecturing you for an hour, it enriches your daily life with little nuggets of information, even when you're not on vacation.
What you’ll do
- Contribute to our core backend API that powers the Amuse platform (the app for curious people) by jumping in feet first
- Break down problems into clean, efficient solutions with guidance from senior engineers
- Help design and maintain APIs and data models that are reliable and well-structured
- Explore how GIS data and algorithms can connect data points in new and meaningful ways
- Collaborate closely with other developers, designers, and team members to bring features to life
- Grow your coding practices with an emphasis on respect, thoughtfulness, and team collaboration
What you need
- Some Go / Golang experience or equivalent in similar strongly typed compiled languages like Rust, Java, C++
- Exposure to REST APIs and real-time applications
- Interest in data analytics and how it can solve real-world problems
- Excitement about AI-powered tools and how they can support your learning and workflow
- Strong desire to learn about new tools and techniques, and have an eagerness to share new ideas and solutions on every project
- Familiarity with relational databases (Postgres, bonus if you\'ve touched PostGIS)
- Willingness to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with peers and mentors
