About Crown Collision

Crown Collision in Saint John, NB is expanding and looking to fill a full-time Autobody Technician position. Our busy shop is growing, and we are seeking skilled Autobody Technicians to join our team. Work in a newly expanded, state-of-the-art facility with a crew that values quality, teamwork, and a job well done.

Crown Collision is locally owned-and-operated and has proudly served southern New Brunswick"s collision repair industry for over 60 years. We work on all makes and models at our state-of-the-art collision repair centre. All our work is guaranteed with a Lifetime warranty, and we are part of a network of preferred vehicle repair centres for top insurance companies.

Summary

Autobody technicians make body repairs to cars, trucks and other motor vehicles using traditional hand tools and a range of specialty body repair tools. These repairs are accomplished by inspecting and determining the repair work needed, developing appropriate methods for each job and applying a broad knowledge of automotive construction and repair techniques.

Responsibilities

• Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed
• Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components
• Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers
• Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams
• Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place
• Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment
• File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools
• Repair and replace glass components such as windshields, windows and sunroofs
• Repair or replace interior components, such as seat frame assembly, carpets and floorboard insulation

Requirements

• Red Seal Certified Technician preferred but not required
• Second and third year apprentice, we’ll help you obtain your Red Seal certification
• Must be able to provide and maintain a valid driver’s license, driving abstract and criminal background check
• Strong attention to detail and top quality craftsmanship
• Must be able to perform strenuous physical labour, ability to lift heavy objects, twist, turn, bend and stand for long periods
• Continuing Education – ongoing training is a must
• Ability to be professional and deliver exceptional service to clients
• Team player with a great attitude and work ethic
• A passion for restoring vehicles to perfection
• Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
• Methodical and patient with a keen eye for detail
• Ability to multi-task, strong time management and organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines
• Self-motivated and resourceful with proven problem-solving abilities
• Work well under pressure
• Maintain all required OH&S certifications and ensure a safe workplace for yourself and others

Work Conditions

• Strenuous physical labour; ability to bend, twist, lift, and stand for extended periods
• Must maintain all required OH&S certifications and emphasize safety in the workplace
