The Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology in the Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto invites applications for a full-time tenure stream position in the areas of Machine Learning and/or Self-Driving Labs applied to Drug Discovery, Pharmacology, and/or Toxicology at the rank of Assistant Professor, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2026.
Candidates must have earned a PhD in Pharmacology or a related discipline with a demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching.
The successful candidate will be expected to pursue innovative and independent research, establish an original, competitive, and externally funded research program, and contribute significantly to undergraduate, graduate, and professional education in pharmacology.
We seek an outstanding individual whose research expertise and teaching interests complement and enhance the Department’s themes around pharmacology and toxicology. The candidate will advance Machine Learning and Self-Driving Lab approaches in combination with data mining and biological models to accelerate translation of discoveries to human applications. By joining the Acceleration Consortium, the candidate will benefit from a world-class environment in medical and AI research. The position includes a competitive startup package supported by the Department and the Consortium.
Evidence of research excellence includes publications in top venues, a compelling research statement, conference presentations, awards, and strong endorsements. Teaching excellence will be demonstrated through teaching accomplishments, mentorship, conference presentations, and a teaching dossier. Salary is commensurate with experience.
