The British Columbia Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (BC SPCA) is looking to fill the following career opportunity:

POSITION: Assistant Generosity Services

STATUS: Permanent; Full-Time

SHIFT: 35 hours per week

CLASSIFICATION: Exempt

About the Position:

Reporting to the Supervisor, Generosity Services, the Assistant Generosity Services is responsible for the day-to-day donation processing, fulfilment, and support for our donors, which may include the coordination and execution of scheduled monthly transaction processing, as part of the Generosity Services team.

Responsibilities:

  • Responding to calls and emails from donors and the public.
  • Assist Branch staff with donation and receipt related questions.
  • Participate in sorting and distributing incoming donations ensuring security and integrity of payment and donor information.
  • Fulfilling requests, including updates, promptly in accordance with excellent customer service.
  • Process various types of donations using Raiser’s Edge, including direct mail, special events, monthly donations, tributes, major donations among others.
  • Producing, and ensuring the accuracy of, charitable receipts, using Raiser’s Edge, Receipter Pro and Word and preparing them for mailing.
  • Ensuring the accuracy of donor biographical, contact, and financial data through maintenance of Raisers Edge and other offline and online systems, and through performing of regularly scheduled data integrity and audit checks.
  • Contribute to the maintenance and development of procedures to accurately reflect duties.
  • Participate in team meetings and provide ideas for improving departmental functions.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Post Secondary education plus 2-3 years work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable to the employer.
  • Experience with:
  • High volumes of transaction processing with quick and accurate data entry.
  • Dealing with confidential materials.
  • Knows at least one CRM well and are open to learning others (preference for prior experience with Raiser’s Edge 7 and NXT. Experience with Luminate Online, Shelter Buddy and Shopify an asset).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional, written, oral and persuasive communication skills, including an ability to relate respectfully to a diverse audience.
  • Strengths include collaboration, prioritization, analytical thinking, detail oriented and capable of proceeding with minimal supervision after receiving general instruction/training on new assignments.
  • Comfortable with, and able to be around, animals.
  • Philosophical harmony with the vision, mission, and strategic directions of the BC SPCA.
