Reports To: Production Manager

Position Overview:

We are seeking a hands-on Assistant Food Production Working Supervisor to oversee daily manufacturing operations in a fast-paced food production environment. This role is ideal for someone with proven leadership skills, strong decision-making ability, and a solid understanding of quality control, efficiency, and team dynamics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and participate in daily production activities to meet output and quality goals.
  • Provide clear direction to team members and delegate tasks in the absence of the Production Supervisor.
  • Communicate effectively with both team and upper management—sharing both positive feedback and areas for improvement.
  • Apply root cause analysis to production issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure quality standards are met and maintained throughout production.
  • Lead by example in maintaining food safety and operational excellence.
  • Balance quality and cost-efficiency in decision-making and daily operations.
  • Embrace and lead change initiatives to improve processes or accommodate business needs.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reports; candidate will have clear, legible handwriting.
  • Make sound, reasonable decisions with the ability to explain the “why” behind them to both team and management.
  • Assist in training and onboarding of new team members.
  • Multitask effectively and remain calm and collected under pressure.
  • Ensure compliance with company SOPs and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a food manufacturing environment; supervisory experience required.
  • Strong understanding of root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance standards and food safety best practices.
  • PCQI certified or willingness to complete training.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.
  • Ability to write legibly and maintain detailed records.
  • Proficient in time management, team leadership, and problem-solving.
  • Adaptable to change with a positive, solution-driven attitude.
