Description

The Assistant Restaurant Manager partners with the Restaurant General Manager to lead the restaurant team. Responsibilities include delegating tasks, delivering excellent customer service, leading by example, and developing team members. This position specifically oversees our Starbucks unit(s).

Salary: $50,000 - $55,000 per year

Quarterly bonus potential

SSP Canada operates several restaurants at Ottawa International Airport, including Darcy McGees, Cork & Well, Starbucks, Tim Hortons, Bridgehead Coffee, Big Rig Brewing, and Canal Market.

Essential Functions

  • Recruit, train, develop, and communicate with the Food Travel Expert team.
  • Implement and maintain guest service standards and brand specifications.
  • Maintain merchandising, display, signage standards, and monitor inventory levels.
  • Develop, plan, and assign daily goals and tasks to team members.
  • Manage and evaluate team performance, providing feedback and disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Monitor sales performance through reports and market comparison.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, provincial health, and sanitation standards.
  • Handle office tasks including funds management, inventory, purchasing, scheduling, and payroll.

Skills & Other Requirements

  • Minimum two (2) years of management experience in the food & beverage industry, preferably in a coffee shop environment.
  • Experience managing a Starbucks location is highly preferred.
  • Experience in casual dining settings is a plus.
  • Proven conflict management skills, ability to work under pressure, exercise sound judgment, and make decisions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Ability to obtain Transport Canada Security Clearance.
