Architect - Transit Infrastructure Projects

Toronto, ON - Downtown

4 days in office, Friday's at home

Our client is seeking an experienced Architect with a strong background in transit infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will bring a deep understanding of complex technical standards, strong project coordination skills, and the ability to lead and manage detailed design processes.

Applicants should have experience with Metrolinx technical standards (preferred), excellent communication and organisational skills, and the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams. Revit proficiency is an asset, as is experience in specification writing (MasterFormat).

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate architectural design and documentation for transit and infrastructure projects
• Ensure technical accuracy and compliance with applicable standards and building codes
• Develop and review detailed specifications, drawings, and technical submissions
• Collaborate with internal teams, consultants, and clients to ensure project objectives are met
• Oversee design coordination using BIM tools (Revit) and CAD systems
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables
• Mentor junior team members and foster a collaborative, quality-driven environment

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a qualified Architect (OAA or equivalent)
• Proven experience in transit or infrastructure projects
• Must have Metrolinx design standards
• Strong knowledge of building technologies, regulations, and planning processes
• Technical understanding of CAD / BIM workflows and their project management implications
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail, organisation, and quality assurance
• Experience in progressive design & build or other collaborative contract models (preferred)
• Proficiency in Revit
• Experience in specification writing (MasterFormat)
