Job description
Position Summary

Apprentice Pipefitters possess the knowledge required to lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems, supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for various systems including oil, steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, and industrial production and processing.

Position Details
- Shop/Module Yard work
- Hours: 7am - 5pm, 50 hours/week
- Location: Crossfield, Alberta

Core Accountabilities
  • Read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints (Isometrics, P&ID’s, etc.)
  • Assist journeyperson pipefitters with installation of equipment, pipe, and structural steel
  • Assemble piping and valves in modules and compressor packages
  • Prepare pipe and fittings for tacking, hoisting, and rigging
  • Hydrotest, assemble, and install pipe spools in fabrication
  • Measure, cut, and thread pipe
  • Install supports, valves, piping, and control systems
  • Replace worn components and reactivate systems
Qualifications
Education
  • Must be a registered Apprentice or plan to pursue a welding apprenticeship
Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities
  • Pass pre-employment drug & alcohol testing
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Willing to work in various aspects of the trade
