Apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanic (2nd Year or Higher)

All Service Drilling, a respected leader in geotechnical and environmental drilling services, is seeking a motivated 2nd‑year or higher Apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanic to support our Leduc operations.

This role is best suited for a self‑starter who has hands-on experience, strong troubleshooting ability, and is comfortable working independently.


Key Responsibilities


  • Disassemble and reassemble components such as engines, transmissions, cooling systems, fuel and exhaust systems, breaks, clutches, differentials, hydraulics, electrical systems and lubrication systems

  • Inspect and test to detect faults and malfunctions in drill units, diesel compressors, hydraulic support equipment, high pressure water pumps

  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required

  • Perform duties that range from routine preventative maintenance to repairing major breakdowns, including troubleshooting and diagnostics

  • Work as part of a team to accomplish maintenance goals and targets.

  • Service attachments and working tools

  • Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a strong safety culture.


Professional Experience / Qualification


  • Registered Apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanic, 2nd‑year or higher.

  • 5 + years of hands on experience.

  • Must be comfortable working independently.

  • Good mechanical aptitude and strong problem‑solving skills.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks, stay organized, and make sound decisions.

  • Valid driver’s license.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.


Education


  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Registered Apprentice in the Heavy Duty Equipment Technician / Heavy Equipment Technician trade


Compensation

$28 to $35/hr based on experience
