Job summary

A global technology company is seeking an experienced Application Engineer in Calgary, Alberta. You'll provide technical support for RF and microwave Test and Measurement instruments, conduct customer training, and act as a subject matter expert. The ideal candidate has a BSEE, extensive experience in customer-facing roles, and familiarity with test equipment. Excellent communication skills are essential. This position requires some travel within the region and occasional international trips.

Job description

Sales and Product Management : Application Engineer - Calgary

We are seeking a Test & Measurement Application Engineer based in the Calgary, Alberta area, to support our Sales and Marketing channel, demonstrate products, and provide training and application support to our customer base in Canada.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of RF and Microwave measurement applications, general knowledge of test equipment, and excellent customer-facing skills.

• Provide technical support for RF and microwave Test and Measurement instruments.
• Develop and present at local seminars and customer training sessions.
• Provide technical feedback to the product line.
• Be the subject matter expert for pre/post-sales support, including customer demonstrations.

Qualifications

• BSEE (or equivalent).
• 7+ years of working in a customer-facing role as an application engineer.
• Strong understanding of RF and microwave measurement applications.
• Experience working with test equipment, including spectrum/signal analyzers, signal generators, and vector network analyzers.
• Experience supporting customers with a solid understanding of the current electronic industry.
• Excellent communication (verbal and written) and customer interface skills.
• Experience using CRM tools.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Ability to travel up to 50% within the region and occasional international travel.
• Instrument automation programming experience is an asset (C/C++, Labview, Matlab, Python).
• English-based role; French speaking is an asset.
• Position is based in Calgary, Alberta.
