Location: Slave Lake, Alberta, Canada

Schedule: Seven days on, seven days off rotation, 12-hour shifts (rotating days and nights).

Are you seeking an exciting new opportunity to be part of a great team? Enerchem International Inc., an AltaGas company, is seeking a Plant Operator for our Hydrocarbon Fractionation Plant in beautiful Slave Lake, Alberta! The successful candidate will work a seven-on, seven-off rotation schedule, 12 hours per shift, including days and nights.

Please note that this is not a camp-based role. The successful candidate must reside in the Slave Lake area. Preference will be given to those currently local to the area.

What You'll Do
  • Operate and maintain the Hydrocarbon Fractionation Plant and associated equipment safely, effectively, and productively as part of the operating team, under the supervision of a lead operator.
  • Prepare and issue safe work permits to contractors, and prepare work areas for maintenance, including lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Monitor process and equipment conditions, and maintain operational records (routine readings, volume balances, log sheets, car seal control documentation, P&ID updates).
  • Contribute to the development, review, and revision of Safe Operating Procedures. Follow safe operating and chemical handling procedures to ensure assets are operated as per design.
  • Assist in bulk loading and unloading operations for trucks transporting fluids.
  • Participate in pipeline maintenance activities, including pigging operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
What You Need
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License required.
  • 1+ years of experience in gas operations is preferred but not required. Other Operations experience will be considered.
  • Fourth Class Power engineering certification is considered an asset. Recent Power Engineering grads welcome.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team or individually.
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
  • Interested in pursuing a career in gas operations.
  • Excellent work ethic.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and mathematical skills.

Enerchem International Inc. has been manufacturing hydrocarbon-based fluids in Western Canada for over 30 years. Enerchem has two facilities: the Slave Lake plant, the northernmost production facility of refined products in Western Canada, and another facility near Sundre, Alberta.
