Administrative Assistant Life Insurance Operations

Remote administrative opportunity in the insurance industry. This contract role offers flexible weekday hours full-time remote work from Nova Scotia and exposure to life insurance operations. Ideal for candidates with administrative experience, strong attention to detail and excellent English communication skills; French is considered an asset.

  • Flexible schedule from 8 am to 4 pm or 9 am to 5 pm.

Responsibilities
  • Administer new life insurance applications and maintain related documentation.
  • Input and track client requests for new insurance coverage requiring medical underwriting.
  • Follow up with clients for additional documentation as requested by medical underwriters.
  • Provide clerical support across the team and assist with general administrative duties.
  • Manage pending applications and ensure completion of required steps.
  • Sort and distribute incoming correspondence, including emails and faxes.
  • Draft responses to routine inquiries and support ad‑hoc projects as needed.
What you will need to succeed
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 24 years of previous experience in administrative or customer service roles.
  • Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and keep information well‑organized.
  • Ability to manage tasks independently and prioritize effectively.
  • High attention to detail and demonstrated accountability.Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable learning and navigating new systems quickly.
  • Bilingual in English and French to communicate with clients, process insurance applications and provide support in both official languages depending on client preference (preferred).
