Position Summary
Reporting to the IT Solutions Manager, the Technical Solutions Analyst will collaborate with business analysts on projects to understand business area needs and requirements, analyze solution gaps, and to propose solution designs through the integration of business processes, information, assets, and technology solutions. The role functions to demonstrate an appropriate level of alignment between the strategic goals of the business and technology decisions. The Technical Solutions Analyst will be a subject matter expert pertaining to organizational technology and must have an understanding of core business functions, legislation, as well as industry standard technologies and toolsets. A primary focus is to identify and establish clarity between business drivers and needs to propose value producing, sustainable technology solutions.
Responsibilities
- Actively participate in program and project delivery initiatives
- Collaborate with other subject matter experts in the Information Technology Department on project and operational deliverables.
- Work with the Business Performance Department on project specific deliverables.
- Actively engage in project planning and delivery toward a seamless transition to operations
- Work closely with the Enterprise Solutions Specialists to analyze requirements, ideate solutions, seek advice, and ensure standardization and consistency are maintained.
- Work closely with the Enterprise Data Specialists to ensure data quality, integrity and security.
- Collaborate with business analysts and business stakeholders to attain finalization of business needs and requirements.
- Partner with Business Analysts to conduct stakeholder workshops to drive agreement first on business needs before eliciting the high-level system requirements.
- Scope and size the high-level system requirements and formulate a solution delivery plan with both the Business Analyst, Project Manager, and Enterprise Applications Specialist.
- Document system processes, high-level system workflows, and identify core functional requirements for sign-off.
- Analyze and understand any current state solutions that meet or partially meet the business need, identify functional gap and pain points while assisting to elicit and agree on the systems requirements that would meet the business requirements.
- Understand and reflect the voice of the customer in system requirements.
- Develop process models, use cases, wire flows, block flows, process flow diagrams, and descriptions, and other project deliverables using a variety of tools including Atlassian (Confluence, Jira), and/or Microsoft 365 tools.
- Create solution prototypes and functional designs using tools such as Axure and Confluence.
- Ensure that solutions are aligned with the IT Service Management best practices.
- Map traceability between business requirements and functional designs.
- Ensure that solutions align with business policy and operational needs.
- Conduct current state data analyses using SQL tools to assist with data requirements and designs.
- Adhere to software solutions delivery process and IT change management practices.
- Collaborate with business analysts across business domains to ensure cross-functional requirement stakeholder impacts are taken into consideration.
- Support the development and participate in user acceptance testing and pilot activities to confirm and improve the user experience.
- Assist with day-to-day operational issues, including providing level 2 support at the application level to direct line users of our software.
- Act as a subject matter expert in the development of business architecture framework development, tool suite selection, and design and methodology development.
- Act as a subject matter expert in the development of software application solution designs, data modelling, and transition strategies from the perspective of business process management, data architecture and quality, user experience, records and document management.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to strategic and tactical technical issues as they relate to providing business value.
- Collaborate with IT and business leaders, governance teams, and management to identify business, technology capability needs and prioritization of issues and enhancements.

- Extensive experience in Microsoft SQL Server or enterprise databases, complex querying, entity relationship modelling, naming, data seeding design in collaboration with the Enterprise Specialists and Developers
- Experience or knowledge of image capture and input management tools including OpenText Capture (Captiva), and prototyping tools including Axure
- In-depth technical knowledge of network, PC, and platform operating systems, including Microsoft and mobile systems
- Working knowledge cybersecurity, privacy, data governance and records management protocols and standards (e.g., ITIL, DAMA, OWASP, PIPA, ISO15489) pertaining to systems and business processes
- Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.
- Understanding and experience with AI technologies, their capabilities and limitations
- Consulting and relationship management experience working with customers and partners.
- Strong technology research skillset with proven ability to design and present technology alternatives based on scope-level business concepts.
- Exceptional documentation abilities of strategies and designs, processes and data models, user experience interfaces, prototyping, and presentations
- Active and clear communication with a cross-section of stakeholders, including management

Qualifications
- Technical diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, systems technology, information systems, or business processing
- 5 to 8 years of experience working in information technology solutions delivery
- Software suite certifications related to relevant business process technologies
- Strong knowledge and experience of recommending and implementing best practices for user experience and workflows, data modelling, quality and refinement, and records and document management improvement
- Strong knowledge of software evaluation principles and practices
