Work Arrangement:

Hybrid - This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Oshawa Elevation Centre three times per week.

The Role

Working closely with the National Advertising & Communications Manager – Certified Service, the Marketing Specialist co-op will support the sales and marketing teams in developing and executing customer and dealer-facing marketing campaigns within the vehicle aftersales department, with a focus on parts and service post-sale. You will play a key role in campaign development, execution, dealer communications, and performance analysis. This includes collaborating with multiple marketing agencies to support the paid media process, from briefing and creative development to media planning, execution, and optimization. Your contributions will help drive demand, generate leads, and support long-term growth strategies for General Motors.

In this role, you will develop and drive marketing content across various media channels, including web, social, and email. You will dive into analysis on customer retention, conduct monthly campaign analysis, and evaluate service reports, providing valuable insights to senior leadership. This position offers hands on experience in digital marketing, business development, and the implementation of digital tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct and deliver monthly data reports on customer retention, financial performance, and campaign effectiveness using Excel and other analytical tools.
  • Provide detailed analytics and reporting for GM Certified Service marketing campaigns, including in-depth data analysis to assess campaign effectiveness.
  • Develop analysis of Electric Vehicle service lane opportunities to help drive the EV strategy in Customer Care and Aftersales
  • Identify trends and key insights from data, developing these insights into detailed reports and presentations using Excel for analysis and visualization to inform decision-making
  • Collaborate with marketing agency partners on new campaign development, and create monthly marketing presentations to deliver to key stakeholders
  • Conduct market research for vehicle aftersales and assist with website audits
  • Assist with Certified Service or Marketing projects as required
Required Qualifications
  • Enrolled in a Business/IT, Marketing or Statistical related degree program
  • Must be able to work on site in Oshawa, Ontario minimum 3 days a week in person. Occasional downtown Toronto meetings with the agencies
  • Must have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products with a special focus on Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to develop PowerPoint presentations, deep dive into reports analysis and present to senior leadership.
  • Eligible to work full-time (40 hours per week) in Canada, and for 8-12-month term starting Jan 2026
  • A developed analytical skill set is required in to help drive marketing strategy using a data first approach!
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to collaborate across various departments
  • Strong willingness to self-learn and develop new skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with marketing campaign development
  • Experience conducting market research and competitive analysis
