As a member of the Backend Engineering Global team, you’ll be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the server-side logic and integration of applications. This role focuses on developing robust, scalable, and efficient backend systems and ensuring smooth integration with internal and external services. The engineer will work closely with front-end developers, data engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality, reliable solutions.

Responsibilities:

1. Leverage industry and organizational standards, patterns, frameworks, and best practices to support day-to-day operations that enable the fulfilment of business strategies.
2. Create, govern, and continuously improve automation framework and scripts for our company-wide solutions.
3. Provide direct technical design and delivery support for top priority initiatives while governing, influencing, and approving all other initiatives.
4. Create, maintain, and drive usage of a repository for technical design artefacts across the entire ABI Solutions community.
5. Provide support and guidance across the company on technical design and standards.
6. Ensure that delivered solutions are aligned to enterprise standards (Architecture, Operations, and Infrastructure) and of high quality while maintaining the required non-functional attributes such as performance, supportability, security, usability, and reliability.
7. Prototype new solutions to test and confirm technical design of new products and ideas.

Skills and qualifications:

1. Strong experience with Integration / Backend Technologies and other scripting languages.
2. Experience working in teams to develop and support production-quality tools and/or services to support internal teams (engineer, data, etc.).
3. Service-oriented architecture.
4. Python frameworks and libraries.
5. DevOps delivery pipeline with experience in source code management.
6. DevOps and Continuous Delivery/integration tools and methodologies.
7. Advanced English.
8. Datadog / Other observability or Open Telemetry solutions.
