Position Summary :

Marketing C om mercial & Field Senior Director will report to the General Manager and lead a marketing and field team focused on business optimization and patient‑centered outcomes in the rare disease landscape. This role involves formulating and executing marketing and commercial strategic and tactical plans fostering relationships with key stakeholders such as healthcare providers KOLs and driving team performance to achieve growth objectives. This leader will also be responsible for fostering strong alignment between Marketing and Commercial strategies to maximize resource efficiency and streamline activities. This leader will also collaborate and work closely with medical area and other key support areas in the company. This leader is responsible for leading key strategic initiatives within function sub‑function and department s ensuring alignment with departmental and company goals.

Work Model :

Flex : This role will typically require onsite work 2-3 days each week or more depending on business many locations the business will set certain days each week that Flex employees are required to be onsite.

Responsibilities :
  • Develop and oversee the execution of the marketing and commercial plans and strategies to support early and broad access to innovative therapies for rare diseases ensuring alignment with the companys objectives.
  • Lead support and coach a high‑performing Marketing and Field Team setting and exceeding performance expectations while fostering a culture of accountability compliance and integrity.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including healthcare providers KOLs distributors (in countries where applicable) to drive patient treatment and adherence.
  • Provide oversight and strategic direction for market data analysis to develop actionable marketing and commercial business plans to optimize growth opportunities aligning both areas strategies and expected outcomes.
  • Provides guidance on defining and monitoring key performance indicators across the patient journey from diagnosis to treatment ensuring cross‑functional integration focused on seamless execution and measurable outcomes.
  • Oversee the commercial pathway for product sales managing channels and service providers while ensuring compliance with governance and company policies.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including GM medical and market access to address systematic barriers to care and implement innovative solutions.
  • Develop, manage and make critical decisions to the annual commercial business plans sales budget forecast exercises and financial objectives continuously evaluating risks and opportunities to drive business success bringing short medium and long‑term strategies to address trends risks and commercial / marketing needs that impact the department and function performance.
  • Lead efforts to educate and expand the healthcare provider community.
  • Champion innovation and influence organizational decision‑making by recommending new approaches conceptualizing strategic initiatives and contributing to the companys long‑term vision.
  • Navigates ambiguous situations across country specific market assessing complex less tangible factors related to the sales and identifying core issues providing strategic direction to the commercial and marketing teams.
  • Collaborates with executive leadership (XLT‑1 or XLT‑2) on matters impacting mid to long‑term country commercial sales and marketing goals ensuring alignment with regional and commercial global priorities.
  • Uses advanced communication and persuasion strategies to negotiate on behalf of commercial and marketing teams on strategic matters. Provides clear direction to those teams to ensure successful completion of goals.
  • Manages and deploys a mix of resources to deliver on medium to large scale projects / initiatives across country specific departments that cross function with commercial team.
Requirements :
  • Bachelors degree in business administration marketing life sciences or related field; Masters or MBA highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of leadership managing teams exceptional experience in commercial marketing and field roles preferably in high‑cost specialty therapeutic areas rare diseases or orphan drugs.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate complex data into actionable business strategies and value propositions.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams drive change and implement innovative solutions in a fast‑paced dynamic environment.
  • Exceptional organizational analytical and problem‑solving skills with a strong ability to manage ambiguity uncertainties and achieve results.
  • Strong leadership and people management experience a proven ability to identify and harness business opportunities and a deep commitment to operating with a patient‑first focus.
  • Outstanding relationship management skills including experience collaborating with healthcare providers KOLs and cross‑functional teams.
  • Fluency in business English is required.
  • Advanced understanding of market environment commercial governance and country‑specific healthcare trends.
  • Travel : (approximate 40-60%) to meet business needs lead the team efforts and maintain stakeholder relationships.
