About the role

Build and migrate backend and integration code from PHP/JavaScript into Python services. You’ll work on business logic, APIs/integrations, and data access, with light Linux operations and a strong focus on clarity, communication, and asking the right questions.

Responsibilities

• Migrate existing PHP + JavaScript functionality into Python services (maintain behavior, improve structure, add tests).
• Implement backend features and business logic with solid programming fundamentals.
• Write and maintain SQL queries (data access, reporting, validations).
• Run/debug scripts and jobs on Linux servers (SSH, logs, scheduled executions).
• Contribute to code reviews; surface failures/risks early and propose fixes.
• Collaborate with teammates and stakeholders: clarify requirements, ask questions, document decisions.
• Support workflows/pipelines using Airflow or similar orchestration tools.

Required

• Working proficiency in PHP and JavaScript and interest/ability to migrate to Python (required).
• Strong programming logic and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable using Linux servers for connections and executions (SSH, basic troubleshooting).
• SQL knowledge (able to read/write queries and understand schemas).
• Clear communication; proactive in asking questions and calling out issues.

Nice to have

• Airflow (or similar orchestrators like Prefect/Dagster).
• Experience working with APIs and integrations.
