About the Job

As a Senior Technical Lead for AI, Agents, and Vector Systems, you will drive the design and development of advanced AI architectures, including LLMs, agent frameworks, and vector-based solutions. You will collaborate with engineering and product teams to define best practices, guide technical decisions, and deliver scalable, production-ready AI systems. This role offers the opportunity to lead innovation, run experiments, and shape the future of AI within the organization in a fully remote, senior‑level contractor position.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for initiatives involving applied AI, intelligent agents, autonomous systems, and vector/embedding-based architectures.
• Design, evolve, and oversee solutions leveraging LLMs, RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), advanced NLP pipelines, and modern agent frameworks.
• Define technical standards, governance, best practices, and guidelines for building scalable AI applications.
• Lead experimentation, applied research, and validation of models, algorithms, and advanced machine learning / deep learning approaches.
• Architect and implement vector databases, semantic similarity mechanisms, and optimized storage structures for information retrieval (IR).
• Support the team in building pipelines for training, fine‑tuning, evaluating, and monitoring models.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering to integrate multiple data sources, prepare datasets, and optimize performance and scalability.
• Serve as a technical reference for scientists, engineers, and analysts, guiding architectural decisions and ensuring excellence in delivery.
• Communicate results, risks, progress, and strategies to executive stakeholders and cross‑functional teams.
• Evaluate new technologies, run PoCs, and foster a culture of innovation and responsible AI adoption.
• Ensure AI solutions are designed and operated in cloud environments with scalability, cost efficiency, security, and observability in mind.

Minimum Qualifications

• Completed PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or related fields.
• Solid experience (5–7+ years) in AI, Machine Learning, NLP, or related areas, with a proven track record of complex, high‑impact projects.
• Deep expertise with LLMs, embeddings, transformer models, RAG, and agent‑oriented architectures.
• Advanced experience with vector databases.
• Proficiency in Python and modern AI/ML ecosystems (PyTorch, TensorFlow, LangChain, LlamaIndex, or equivalents).
• Hands‑on experience with MLOps pipelines and model monitoring frameworks.
• Practical experience designing, implementing, and operating AI systems in production environments.
• Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including managed services for data, AI, and orchestration.
• Proven ability in technical leadership, strategic decision‑making, and mentoring multidisciplinary teams.
• Advanced English for technical communication, research, and interaction with international stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading AI squads in tech startups or fast‑paced innovation environments.
• Relevant scientific publications or open‑source contributions in AI, NLP, or agent systems.
• Knowledge of distributed architectures, performance optimization, GPU computing, and advanced parallelism techniques.
• Familiarity with infrastructure tools (Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform) and modern data pipelines.
