Programme Lead
Main Purpose of the Job
This role sites within the Programme and Projects Team for Communication Services.
The holder of this role will be accountable for Leading a Portfolio of Programmes and Projects.
The Portfolio will be to drive strategic and transformation projects along with having oversight of third-party projects within the same technology.
Activities- Accountable for the Portfolio of work within the agreed service tower- Act as the single point of contact for all Programmes and Projects for the Service Tower assigned- Development of Business Cases- planning
- and designing the programme and proactively monitoring its progress, resolving issues and initiating appropriate corrective action defining the programme's governance arrangements ensuring effective- quality assurance
- and the overall integrity of the programme- Managing the programme's budget on behalf of the Head of Programmes and Projects, monitoring expenditure and costs against delivered and realised benefits as the programme progresses facilitating the appointment of individuals to- project teams-
- ensuring the delivery of new products or services from projects is to the appropriate level of quality, on time and within budget, in accordance with the programme plan and programme governance arrangements ensuring there is allocation of common resources and skills within the programme's individual projects managing third party contributions to the programme- Managing- communications
- with all- stakeholders-
- Managing both the dependencies and the interfaces between projects- Managing risks to the programme's successful outcome- Working with service owners to transition to the new business as usual position initiating extra activities and other management interventions wherever gaps in the programme are identified or issues arise- Reporting the progress of the programme at regular intervals to the Head of Programmes and Projects
Key Requirements
Experience- Complete graduation- Advanced English- Proven experience of managing and delivering large scale technology change programmes, or multiple projects using a structured methodology- Experience of delivering network and voice Programmes and Projects would be beneficial but must have a strong technology change background.
- Experience of leading a cross-organisational, multi-disciplinary team to achieve work objectives- Experience in budget accountability- Effective decision making demonstrates strong critical analysis; accurately analyses a range of complex data; takes well-managed risks and considers mitigation; prioritises effectively; ability to take ownership of and make timely and pragmatic decisions supported by evidence; considers both strategic and operational needs.
- Evidenced based reporting provides valid and reliable information to enable stakeholders to make effective decisions and take the right action quickly.
- Driving and embracing change promotes and drives agreed change initiatives; responds flexibly and positively to change; effectively manages resistance to change.
