What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
- Lead a team to generate sales revenue by promoting the employer's products and services to targeted accounts
- Provide coaching and training to sales representatives to enhance their performance
- Oversee the recruiting, hiring, and onboarding of new sales team members
- Maintain current business relationships with customers to secure long-term commitments and revenue
- Track, analyze, and report on sales performance using the employer's CRM tool
What is Required (Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience selling into State, Local, and Education (SLED) Accounts
- Minimum of five (5) years of demonstrated experience leading successful sales teams
- Strong financial acumen and a consistent record of achieving targeted sales goals
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; familiarity with Salesforce is a plus
- Strong understanding of account management and the strategic selling process
- Experience selling dark fiber and wavelength solutions
- Ability to present effectively to executive-level audiences
- Ability to travel approximately 30-50% of the time
