A global energy services company in Rio de Janeiro is seeking an experienced engineer to innovate and solve complex engineering problems. The ideal candidate should have a master's or doctoral degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 5 years of R&D experience. Responsibilities include mentoring junior engineers and collaborating across teams in different countries, particularly in the areas of design for subsea applications and well intervention. Qualificações

  • Advanced working knowledge in electronic circuit design applied to embedded systems.

Job Duties
  • Demonstrates creativity, foresight, and mature engineering judgment in anticipating and solving engineering problems during the development and application of new and improved products and processes.
  • Establishes best practices that incorporate Reliability, Health, Safety, and Environment concepts to guide others in analysis and design.
  • Evaluates proposed theoretical results to meet design requirements.
  • Serves as a technical expert to other employees to solve complex system equations and develops custom equations to simplify complex problems by using advanced engineering tools.
  • Serves as a technical expert by coaching, developing, and reviewing work from other employees.
  • Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross‑disciplinary teams.
  • Significantly contributes to Halliburton’s Intellectual Property portfolio by delivering innovative and commercially successful solutions.
  • Work across multiple teams located in different countries (Brazil, US, Singapore, India).
  • Work close to the Electrical Engineering team, Systems Engineer, and the Project Manager at the Halliburton Technology Center in Brazil (HBTC).
Qualifications
  • Completion of a master’s or doctoral degree in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • 5 years of experience in R&D.
  • Experience with multidisciplinary teams located in different locations/countries.
  • Experience in design of complex systems solutions including several engineering disciplines for Oil & Gas, mining and/or aerospace industry.
  • Experience in design solutions for subsea applications and well control involving multi disciplines.
  • Experience in design solutions for well intervention applications involving multi disciplines is desirable.
  • Ability to provide guidance and mentoring to more junior engineers as needed.
  • Experience defining requirements and reviewing proposals from third party (manufacturers, vendors, and suppliers).
  • Knowledge of vessels structure and process is desirable.
  • Knowledge and experience in Risk Assessment, FMEA, other reliability tools.
  • Advanced experience with design, simulation, development, implementation, verification, and validation of power electronic based systems/solutions.
  • Troubleshooting of power electronics and proficiency in using lab equipment.
  • Knowledge of communication systems/solutions (data compression and transmission).
  • Advanced working knowledge in electronic circuit design and in commonly used circuit simulators (LTSPICE, PSPICE, etc.) and math tools (Matlab, MathCAD, etc.) applied to embedded systems in harsh environments (O&G, mining or aerospace).
  • Knowledge in power systems demands (Batteries / Recharge / Power management / Passivation / Ramp up / Shut down).
