Offer Description

A post-doctoral fellowship funded by FAPESP, the São Paulo Research Foundation, is available within the scope of a FAPESP Regular Research Grant. The research activities will be carried out at the Interinstitutional Graduate Program in Statistics (PIPGEs), the result of an association between the Federal University of São Carlos's Department of Statistics (DE-UFSCar) and the University of São Paulo's São Carlos Institute of Mathematical and Computer Sciences (ICMC-USP). The fellow will be based at UFSCar.

The position is open to Brazilian or foreign researchers holding a PhD in Statistics, obtained in Brazil or abroad, with proven experience in Survival Analysis and/or Reliability, and the ability to propose and validate new or advanced statistical models. Solid experience in advanced programming in R and Python is also required.

Applicants must have expertise in the following tools:

• Git/GitHub
• API development
• IDEs such as Jupyter Notebooks/VSCode
• Parallel programming and integration with databases (e.g., SQL, APIs)

Candidates should also demonstrate interest in interdisciplinary collaboration (engineering, epidemiology, medicine, public health, etc.).

The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP Post-Doctoral fellowship in the amount of R$ 12,570.00 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 10% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent on items directly related to the research activity.
